FAQsWhy shop resale for your children? Smart shoppers have discovered resale shops and you should too. Here are a few reasons why:
Are you selective about what you accept? Yes, we’re pretty selective. As a consignor, your first-rate consignments will look and sell better surrounded by other high quality items. How much will you price my things? A general rule of thumb is 1/3 to1/2 of original retail (often more), depending on condition and desirability. We advise anyone consigning with us for the first time to stop in the store. Compare your things to similar items on our racks. If you have an unusual or very expensive item, please discuss it with us. Do you buy outright? We can buy outright, but you will make more money if you consign your items. Our split is 50/50 on consignments. If we buy outright, the payment will have to be lower because we must factor in the possibility of not selling an item or selling it on sale. After explaining this to most people, they choose to consign. Can I get my things back if they don’t sell? Of course! You must contact us before your expiration date and request that we note on our calendar that you want to pick up your unsold items. We will gather them on your expiration date and hold them for one week. Will my things be on sale? Yes. Generally, your consignment will be reduced 25% for two weeks before it expires. Our sales are brisk and our turnover is fast. How do you keep track of my things? We use a computer program especially designed for consignment shops. Every consignor has their own account. All items are entered in the computer and tags are printed with numbers identifying the consignor and item. At any time, we can tell with a keystroke, how your things are selling and how much money you have earned. We are also very organized. Is there a fee to become a consignor? No. |
